Razor Returns online slot game
Razor Returns is a high-volatility video slot with clear links to the original, but it also adds a substantial selection of new bonus mechanics. This 5-reel, 5-row game uses 40 paylines and includes Nudging Mystery symbols, a Razor Reveal bonus, plus nudging free spins with a multiplier that increases. There is more to discover in the Razor Returns slot, which the review lists with a 100,000x max win; that figure is not a promise of results.
Razor Returns Slot Theme & Storyline
Push Gaming's Razor Returns online slot continues the story of Razor Shark, one of the iGaming developer's better-known releases. The setting is again a dangerous underwater expedition, where a deadly shark is searching the depths for unwary prey.
Razor Returns Graphics, Animations, and Soundtrack
Razor Returns retains much of the original's visual identity while presenting a more polished finish. Its sharper artwork and lively animations support the underwater theme, and the soundtrack fits the action. If the music becomes distracting, it can be switched off.
Razor Returns Slot Gameplay
Razor Returns uses a 5x5 video-slot layout with 40 paylines. A winning combination requires at least 3 matching symbols on adjacent reels along a payline. The paytable shows the win multiplier applied to your stake for each qualifying combination.
Top Casinos to Play Razor Returns:
Razor Returns - Symbols and Paytable
Razor Returns has 9 reel symbols that can pay when they form a winning combination. Several are refreshed versions of symbols seen in the first Razor Shark slot.
The most valuable symbols feature sharks moving through the deep sea in search of food. Lower-value symbols instead depict seabed finds such as anchors, compasses, diving helmets, and periscopes.
The Wild Shark is the game's wild symbol. It can replace ordinary paying symbols and also awards a payout when it lands in its own qualifying combination.
For a 5-symbol combination, the listed payouts are:
- Wild Shark Symbol: 12.5x
- Orange Shark: 7.5x
- Purple Shark: 6x
- Green Shark: 3x
- Blue Shark: 2.5x
- Diving Helmet: 1x
- Periscope: 1x
- Compass: 0.8x
- Anchor: 0.8x
Razor Returns Bonus Features and Free Spins Feature
Players familiar with Razor Shark will recognise some returning mechanics in Razor Returns, while Push Gaming has also introduced several new options. The feature set includes Mystery Symbols, scatter and wild symbols, Nudge & Reveal, Razor Reveal, a free spins round, a gamble feature, and a bonus buy feature.
Mystery Symbols, the Nudge & Reveal Feature, and Golden Shark Symbols
Mystery symbols, styled as Mystery reef symbols, arrive in stacks of five during both the base game and free spins. Their appearance activates Nudge & Reveal, during which the covered symbols open to show one of the following:
- Paying Symbols: The covered positions change into matching regular-paying symbols.
- Wild Shark Symbols: These replace regular-paying symbols wherever they can form or improve a win.
- Golden Shark Symbols: These activate the Razor Reveal feature described below.
After each spin, Mystery symbols move down by one position until they leave the reels. Whenever they remain in play, they open to reveal a symbol on each spin.
The Razor Reveal Feature - Golden Shark Symbol Leads to Instant Prize Symbols & More!
A Golden Shark revealed by the Mystery Symbols starts Razor Reveal. Every Golden Shark symbol then reveals one of several special symbol types. Possible results for each Golden Shark include:
- Instant Prize Symbol: This symbol carries a multiplier between 1x and 5,000x your stake.
- Multiplier Symbol: Multiplier symbols show 2x, 3x, 5x, or 10x. The displayed value applies to every Instant Prize Symbol and Collector Symbol on the reels.
- Collector Symbol: A Collector gathers the values from all Instant Prize Symbols on the reels. Those collected symbols then disappear, allowing new symbols to enter, and the Collector changes into an Instant Prize Symbol.
- Converter Symbol: A Converter changes every instance of one regular-symbol type into Golden Shark symbols. Those Golden Shark symbols restart Razor Reveal and disclose another set of special symbols.
- Nudge Up Symbol: This symbol appears in Razor Reveal only when the feature is triggered during free spins. It moves any Mystery stacks upward by one position.
Torpedo Scatter Symbols and the Free Spins Feature
Landing 3 or more Torpedo scatter symbols in the base game or during Razor Reveal starts free spins. Additional torpedo symbols raise the multiplier: 3 torpedo symbols provide 1x, while 4 and 5 torpedo symbols provide 5x and 25x, respectively.
At the start of free spins, the 2nd and 4th reels are filled with a complete stack of Mystery Symbols. As they do in the base game, these stacks move down one position per spin. During the bonus, every nudge adds 1x to the progressive win multiplier, which is applied to that spin's wins at its conclusion. Free spins end once no Mystery symbols remain.
Free Spins Gamble Feature
Whenever free spins are triggered, the feature can be gambled for the possibility of a larger prize. The gamble can produce free spins prizes above those awarded naturally, with the review noting a possible 50x win multiplier. A Gamble Wheel determines whether the multiplier increases or nothing is won from the gamble.
Bonus Buy Menu
Where local rules permit, the bonus buy option lets players enter free spins or Razor Reveal directly. The available choices are outlined below:
- 3 Torpedo Free Spins: Paying 106x the stake provides the standard free spins bonus with a 1x multiplier.
- 4 Torpedo Free Spins: For 186x, the option supplies a 5x multiplier.
- 5 Torpedo Free Spins: A cost of 550x provides the bonus with a 25x multiplier.
- Random Free Spins: For 200x, this option provides a randomly selected multiplier.
- Razor Reveal Bonus Game: This costs 500x your stake and is described as triggering Razor Reveal on the next spin.
Push Bet Feature
Push Bet is another available option. When enabled, it is intended to improve the chance of entering free spins and changes the RTP from 96.16% to 96.55%. The feature adds 10% to the regular spin bet.
Bet Sizes, RTP & Variance
Push Gaming's Razor Returns is described as a high variance slot with a 96.16% RTP. Its reels support wagers from 0.10 to 100.00 per spin.
Razor Returns Slot Compared Other Casino Games
The original review by Evan Carrington says Razor Returns was played extensively before the comparison was written. Drawing on that account and broader video-slot knowledge, the review sets Razor Returns alongside similar titles at online casinos.
- Razor Returns vs. Razor Shark: Razor Returns naturally invites comparison with the original Razor Shark slot, which has been successful since Push Gaming released it in 2019. It shares features such as Razor Reveal and Mystery Stacks, among others. On the figures cited in the review, Razor Returns improves on its predecessor: the original has a 50,000x maximum win, whereas Razor Returns is listed with a 100,000x max win. That is double, though neither figure predicts an actual result.
- Razor Shark vs. Under the Sea: Shark-themed slots are relatively uncommon, making the deep-sea setting of Betsofts 'Under the Sea' a useful thematic comparison. Its presentation is attractive, as expected from Betsoft, while the review considers Razor Returns' bonus package more entertaining. Under the Sea includes free spins with a 2x multiplier and a pick-and-click bonus game, so the feature sets differ considerably.
Our Opinion of the Razor Returns Slot
In Evan Carrington's original review, Push Gaming's Razor Returns is presented as another top-quality slot, combining polished visuals with feature-led gameplay. The review places it among the stronger recent Push Gaming slot games and attributes that view partly to the wide range of bonus features, rather than to any guaranteed outcome.
The review highlights the Mystery reveals and Nudge & Reveal for keeping the base game active. Golden Shark appearances create the most feature-rich moments, opening the possibility of additional Mystery symbols, Wild Shark symbols, instant prizes, and other outcomes without guaranteeing a win.
Play Razor Returns Today!
Anyone considering Razor Returns needs to identify a casino that offers the title and then check its terms and jurisdictional status. GCCans has reviewed many online casinos featuring Push Gaming titles, but those reviews do not establish availability or authorization for every player or region.
If you are not ready to wager real money, Razor Returns can be explored in demo mode. In Evan Carrington's GCCans review, this practice option helps you get acquainted with the Mystery symbol, converted symbols, multiplier symbol and converter symbol. Its reveal features may award instant prizes and could trigger potential free spins, although demo play does not predict cash results.
