Pragmatic Play LIVE Dealer Studio Enter UK Market Via Skillonet Partnership
Pragmatic Play had established a strong profile as an online casino content supplier, making the lack of a UK launch for its live dealer platform notable.
A new agreement with the SkillOnNet casino platform provider was set to bring Pragmatic Play’s HTML5 live dealer games to desktop and mobile players, marking the studio’s planned UK arrival.
The announcement on the Pragmatic Play website said UK players could access over 43 live tables covering blackjack, roulette and speed roulette. These joined Evolution Gaming and NetEnt live games already offered at casinos operated by SkillonNet, including DrueckGlueck, PlayOJO and AhtiGames.
The two businesses already had an established commercial relationship. SkillOnNet-operated casinos carried Pragmatic Play’s multi-award-winning slot catalogue, with over 100 HTML5 titles including Great Rhino, Wolf Gold and the popular John Hunter and the Secrets of Da Vinci’s treasure.
Beyond slots, Pragmatic Play supplied table games, bingo and scratch cards. Its Live Casino offering had remained in the background until this expansion brought the studio into greater focus.
For Pragmatic Play, the deal represented a significant step in broadening its live dealer studio’s international reach, with SkillOnNet positioned as a distribution partner. The article linked SkillOnNet’s UK presence to its longstanding relationship with the UK Gambling Commission; the regulator would already have encountered Pragmatic Play through the company’s virtual casino games, which were played by thousands of UK customers.
The arrangement also connected Pragmatic Play’s wider games portfolio with SkillOnNet’s distribution setup across several jurisdictions. As reported at the time, these markets required online casinos to secure local licences and included Spain, Portugal, Sweden, Denmark and Schleswig Holstein, alongside the UK. The article also cited SkillOnNet’s MGA licence as a route to broader international markets.
Lana Bleichyk, acting manager of the ‘Pragmatic Play Live Studio’ opened in April 2019, said the supplier was pleased to extend its SkillOnNet relationship and reach additional markets through the live dealer platform.
Jani Kontturi, SkillOnNet’s Head of Games, also welcomed the addition, saying the platform could bring another Pragmatic Play collection to its casino partners. The expanded catalogue gave UK casinos such as Play Ojo more choice in Live Casino for their customers.
The launch marked Pragmatic Play’s move into the UK's online casino live dealer market. A UKGC industry report cited remote casino, betting and bingo gambling as 37.1% of the country’s gross gambling yield, valued at €5.3 billion within an industry worth £14.4.
At the time, Pragmatic Play already operated several other live dealer games, including Roulette Italy, Roulette Germany and Roulette Russia, while an Asian Studio was said to be coming soon. After its UK launch, the company might add more live tables. The source also speculated that baccarat, poker and other games could follow, though these were possible future additions, not confirmed releases. baccarat
