Exclusive Interview with Amigo Gaming: Vision, Innovation & What’s Next
Amigo Gaming has rapidly built a profile in online slots. In this interview, Yuliia Khomenko, an account manager at the studio, discusses its recognizable game design, international ambitions, exploration of AI, and plans for the years ahead.
Q: Amigo Gaming was launched about five years ago. What was the original vision behind the brand, and have you been able to maintain it over time?
Industry veterans established the team with a specific ambition: to become a leading choice for operators through polished slots, distinctive visuals and features players would remember. Khomenko says the studio has remained aligned with that aim, producing games that have resonated with players and online casino operators. The approach has also evolved in response to end-user preferences, which she describes as the team’s central consideration.
Q: Player expectations are always rising, from game design to features and innovation. How do you keep players interested while staying true to Amigo Gaming’s vision?
Khomenko frames that challenge as an ongoing source of motivation. Amigo develops new releases around familiar features such as its Pile Feature, while looking for different ways to present them. The team experiments with themes, artwork and rewards, and says it gives priority to quality rather than sheer output. In her account, preserving the straightforward enjoyment associated with the brand is part of keeping sessions engaging.
Q: Amigo slots are known for clean visuals and strong pacing. What elements define your signature style in the iGaming world?
Amigo’s stated style pairs colourful artwork with mechanics that are intended to be readily understood. Khomenko says the aim is to create engaging moments without crowding the screen or making play feel complicated, keeping the visual presentation uncluttered while emphasizing excitement and entertainment.
Q: How does your team work together, from the first idea to the final product? Is there anything special about your teamwork?
Khomenko identifies collaboration at Amigo Gaming as an important contributor to the company’s growth. Staff across departments work closely and recognize colleagues’ achievements. The main office is in central Barcelona, alongside team members located in other parts of the world. She says the group makes room to exchange ideas, offer feedback and propose refinements; valuing contributions from everyone, she adds, supports creativity and helps develop each product.
Q: What are the three Amigo Gaming slots you're most proud of, and why?
Khomenko says she enjoys the studio’s full catalogue, while singling out three releases. Fruit Invaders is meaningful to the team, she explains, and found success through its vivid presentation and engaging features. She also names the newer title 3 Fortune Souls, praising its immersive graphics and entertainment value. Her third choice is Thunder and Love, which she describes as another successful game with striking visuals, while noting there are many other releases she could have mentioned.
Q: As you expand internationally, do you target specific types of players or regions, or do you aim to create games that work everywhere?
The studio aims to serve players internationally while factoring in its main markets, Khomenko says. Some mechanics and styles may suit audiences in Asia or LATAM more readily, so they are reflected in releases. Amigo also includes several dice games for players in Belgium, broadening its catalogue there. The stated goal is to balance wide appeal with an understanding of local tastes.
Q:AI is already part of the iGaming industry. Do you plan to use it in your future games or daily work?
Khomenko says Amigo is monitoring AI and considering where it might be useful. Areas under exploration include more intelligent game mechanics, tailored experiences and improved data analysis, with the broader aims of supporting engagement and efficiency. She says the company is open to adopting tools where they can streamline work or add value to its games, while doing so with care.
Q:What can we expect from Amigo Gaming in the future? Are there any exciting plans or goals you can share with us?
Khomenko describes international growth and stronger operator partnerships as continuing priorities. She says Amigo is pursuing additional licences and certifications and anticipated growth and new opportunities in 2025. The studio also had several forthcoming releases it was eager to share, she said, inviting readers to watch for further announcements.
